Cooking Class & Local Dance

Step out from your hotel and follow farm paths down to Mhelo, a small village in Irente. The women here have been welcoming visitors for years, and it shows — they'll have ingredients laid out, fires already going, and they'll fold you straight into the cooking. You'll grind, chop, stir and laugh, and when the meal is ready you'll all eat together.

After lunch, sit back and listen as a small group performs traditional Shambaa dances. Join in if you'd like — they always hope you will. A private car transfer to and from the village can be arranged for an additional 30,000 TZS.
