Magamba Rainforest & Irente Viewpoint

Begin the day uphill through Shambaa and Kilindi villages, listening to your guide explain the medicinal herbs once used by the colonial-era healers. Climb into the Magamba rainforest to spot colobus and blue monkeys in the upper canopy, visit the WWI German cave, and continue to the forest peak for sweeping views over Lushoto.

From the peak, drop down to the Irente Biodiversity Reserve for a farm-fresh lunch — local bread, cheese, jam, salad and passion-fruit juice — before walking the last kilometre to the Irente cliff edge. Sit on the rock with the Mkomazi plains a thousand metres below, then return through a traditional brewery and quiet villages back to your hotel.
