We run day tours, cultural tours, combined day hikes, multi-day hikes and multi-day cultural tours around Lushoto and the Usambara Mountains, as well as catered safaris, mountain climbs on Kilimanjaro or Meru, and cycling tours.

Pricing is per person and scales with group size. For example, the Kisasa Waterfall tour runs from 85,000 TSH per person for a solo traveller down to 60,000 TSH per person in a group of 4-6. Multi-day treks are priced per person per day; the Mtae – 3 Nights trip starts from 185,000 TSH per person per day for a group of 4-6, which includes breakfast, packed lunch, dinner, guide fees, forest fees and a bottle of drinking water each day. Both. Day tours and combined day hikes run from a few hours to most of a day – the Kisasa Waterfall tour takes about 3 hours, and Kisasa Waterfall & Irente View Point combined takes about 5-6 hours. Multi-day hikes and multi-day cultural tours involve overnight stays, such as the Mtae and Mazumbai treks (4 days / 3 nights) or Lushoto to Maasai Plains (2 days / 1 night, including a stay at a Maasai boma).

Terrain varies by tour but generally involves walking through farmland, planted forest and village trails. Some hikes include a steep descent – for example, the climb down to Kisasa Waterfall – and the combined Kisasa Waterfall & Irente View Point route covers a trekking loop of roughly 14km. We don't publish a fitness rating per tour, so get in touch and we'll help match a tour to your fitness level.

Multi-day treks include meals (breakfast, packed lunch and dinner), transport where mentioned, forest fees, guide fees and a bottle of drinking water per day. Some day tours have optional extras, such as a picnic lunch on the Kisasa Waterfall tour or a private transfer for the Cooking Class and Local Dance tour.
