Kisasa Waterfall & Carter's Peak
Leave your hotel and walk through farmland and softwood plantation up to Carter's Peak — the same launch site used by paragliders for the long, slow flight down to the plains. From the peak, the view stretches all the way to Mombo town and the highway running between Dar es Salaam and Arusha. Spread out a picnic and take it slowly.
After lunch, drop down through the forest to the head of the Kisasa Waterfall, then back along village paths to the hotel.

Best time of year: June–October for clearest views from the peak; April–May for the strongest waterfall.
