Miti Asilia Adventure Park

Located in the heart of Mkusu Forest Reserve about thirty minutes' drive from Lushoto, Miti Asilia Adventure Park is Tanzania's first dedicated aerial challenge course — the brand-new venture from the team behind Miti Asilia Adventures, which opened in June 2026. The name "Miti Asilia" means "indigenous trees" in Kiswahili, and that is exactly what you'll experience here: ziplining and bridge-crossing high in the canopy of native Mpodo (Afrocarpus usambarensis), Mshai (Albizia gummifera), Mshihwi (Syzygium guineense) and other Usambara tree species, often with black-and-white colobus monkeys watching from the surrounding branches.

The park is laid out as three progressive courses. You'll need to complete Course 1 (five ziplines) before moving on to Course 2 (five obstacles and one zipline). After Course 2 the choice is yours: continue to Course 3 (four obstacles and one final zipline), or repeat Courses 1 and 2 as many times as your allocated 90 minutes allow. Once you're back on the ground, the Mkuzi Waterfalls are a five-minute walk down the trail — bring a swim costume and cool off in the natural pool before heading back to your hotel.

Please note: the park is closed Wednesdays; reception closes to new arrivals at 4:30 PM. Closed-toed shoes are mandatory (rental available at TZS 5,000) and skirts or dresses cannot be worn with the safety harness.
